t o a b o u t 1 . 5 V . M a k e s u r e t h a t t h e e n g i n e c o o l a n t
temperature is still above g5'F {35'C) and your
v a c u u m p u m p h a s n o l e a k .
33. Check the voltage for 20 seconds.
Does the voltage drop to 1.5 V and hold I or at
least 20 seconds?
YES Inspect the EVAP canister vent shut valve
l i n e a n d c o n n e c t i o n s , I
NO Go to step 34.
34. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
35. Disconnect the quick-connect fitting (A) from the
EVAP canister, and plug the canister port(B).
T u r n t h e i g n i t i o n s w i t c h O N ( l l ) .
While monitoring FTP sensor voltage with the
Honda PGM Tester, or measuring voltage between
ECM connector terminals A29 and C18, slowly
pump lne vacuum pump.
38. Continue to pump vacuum untilthe voltage drops
t o a b o u t 1 . 5 V . M a k e s u r e t h e e n g i n e c o o l a n t
temperature is still above 95'F (35'C) and Vour
v a c u u m o u m o h a s n o l e a k .

39. Monitor the voltage continuously for 20 seconds.
Does the voltage drop to 1.5 V and hold for at
least 20 seconds?
YES Inspect the fuel tank vapor control line and
c o n n e c t i o n s . l
NO Go to step 40.
40. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
4'1. Disconnect the purge line hose (A) from the
c a n i s t e r a t t h e m e t a l l i n e a n d p l u g t h e h o s e ( B ) .
T u r n t h e i g n i t i o n s w i t c h O N ( l l ) .
While monitoring FTP sensor voltage with the
Honda PGM Tester, or measuring voltage between
E C M c o n n e c t o r t e r m i n a l s A 2 9 a n d C 1 8 , s l o w l y
p u m p t h e v a c u u m p u m p .
c o n t i n u e t o p u m p v a c u u m u n t i l t h e v o l t a g e d r o p s
t o a b o u t ' l . 5 V . M a k e s u r e t h a t t h e e n g i n e c o o l a n t
temperature is still above 95'F (35"C) and your
vacuum pump has no leak.
45. Check the voltage for 20 seconds.
Does the voltage drop to 1.5V and hold at least 20
seconds?
YES Inspect the EVAP canister purge valve line
and connections. lf they are OK, test the EVAP two
way valve, and fuel tank vapor control valve test
( s e e p a g e 1 1 - 1 4 5 ) . I
