Fuel Pressure Regulator
Replacement
1. Place a shop towel under the fuel pressure
regulator, then relieve fuel pressure (see page 11-
1 0 5 ) .
2. Disconnectthe vacuum hose and fuel return hose.
3. Remove the two 6 mm retainer bolts (A) and the
fuel pressure regulator (B).

Apply clean engine oil to a new o-ring (C), and
carefully install lt into its proper position.
Install the fuel pressure regulator and the 6 mm
retainer bolts.
Reconnect the vacuum hose and fuel return hose.
Turn the ignition switch ON (ll), but do not operate
the starter. After the fuel pump runs for about 2
seconds, the fuel pressure in the fuel line rises.
Repeat this two or three times, then check whether
t h e r e i s a n y f u e l l e a k a g e .
Fuel Filter Replacement
The fuel filter should be reDlaced whenever the fuel
pressure drops belowthe specified value (320 370 kPa,

regulator vacuum hose disconnected and pinched) after
making sure that the fuel pump and the fuel pressure
regulator are oK.
1 . R e m o v e t h e f u e l t a n k u n i t ( s e e p a g e 1 1 - 1 1 4 ) .
2. Remove the fuelfilter (A).

Installthe pan in the reverse order of removalwith
a new base gasket, then check these items:
. When connecting the wire harness, make sure
the connection is secure and the terminal 1B) is
firmlv locked into the Dlace.
. Check that the tab of the clamp (C) does not
interfere with the wire harness,
. Do not push the lower part ofthe suction filter (D).
. When installing the fuel gauge sending unit (E),
make sure the connection is secure and the
connector is firmly locked into place. Be careful
not to bend or twist it excessively.
