4. Checkthe contact area (A) o{ the line (Bl for dirt and
o a m a g e .
. lf the surface is dirty, clean it..
. lf the surface is rusty ordamaged, replacethe
fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel Jeed line or fuel return
l t n e .
To prevent damage and keep foreign matter out,
cover the disconnected connector and line end with
plastic bags (A).
N O T E :
. The retainer cannot be reused once it has been
removed from the pipe.
Replace the retainer when
- replacing the iuel pump.
- replacing the fuel filter.
- r e p l a c i n g t h e f u e l f e e d l i n e .
- replacing the fuel return line.
- it has been removed from the line.
- i t i s d a m a g e d .

1. Check the contact area (A) of the line (B) for dirt and
damage, and clean if necessary.
2 . I n s e r t a n e w r e t a i n e r ( A ) i n t o t h e c o n n e c t o r ( B ) i f t h e
retainer is damaged, or after
. r e p l a c i n g t h e f u e l p u m p .
. replacing the fuel filter.
. r e p l a c i n g t h e f u e l f e e d l i n e .
. replacing the fuel return line,
. removing the retainer from the line.
