A Netlink FRX/FRM X.25 port can connect to an X.25 DTE or an X.25 network. This
allows the node to transmit X.25 traffic, as well as IP and IPX (encapsulated per RFC
1356), and SNA (per QLLC).
This chapter describes configuration of a physical X.25 port. If X.25 will
be encapsulated in frame relay (per RFC 1490), see "Configuring a Logical Port"
in Chapter 6.
To run a physical port as X.25, make sure the following are properly configured:
Node parameters. See Chapter 3.
Line Processor(s) that will contain the interface(s) to the user device(s),
network, and/or X.25 PVC, plus Line Interface Card(s) supporting the ports that
will be the interfaces. See Chapter 4.
Protocols: X.25 and any others that will be transmitted over the X.25 link. See
Chapter 4.
X.25 port(s) (described later in this chapter) that will connect to the user
device(s), network, and/or PVC(s).
SVC Subscriber ID(s) (described later in this chapter), which identifiy user
devices to each other and the FRX/FRM.
