defines the protocol the port will support. Selecting this parameter will display a list
of valid protocols. An FRX4000 port can be configured as any WAN protocol loaded
in the device. An FRX6000 or FRM port can be configured as any WAN protocol con-
figured on this port's RLP. (Protocol configuration is described in Chapter 4.)
must be configured as follows. For reference, port locations are shown on page 5-1
(FRX4000), page 5-2 (FRX6000), and page 5-3 (FRM).
FRX4000 port 0 is always
FRX4000 port 1 is
DSU card is installed.
FRX4000 ports 2 and 3 are determined by the attached cables: RS-232, V.35,
RS-449, or X.21.
FRX4000 ports 4–7 are determined by the expansion Line Interface Card (LIC)
and attached I/O cables. Line Processor Configuration identifies the LIC, and
only the valid interfaces will be displayed on the Port screen. Possible interfaces
are RS-232, V.35, RS-449, and X.21. (RS-449 and X.21 interfaces require an
RS-422 LIC, which is available by special order.)
FRX6000 ports 0–7 on each RLP are determined by the Line Interface Card(s)
and attached I/O cables. Line Processor Configuration identifies the LIC, and
only the valid interfaces will be displayed on the Port screen. Possible interfaces
are RS-232, V.35, RS-449, and X.21
require an RS-422 LIC.)
FRM ports 0–7 are determined by the Line Interface Cards and attached I/O
cables. Line Processor Configuration identifies the LICs, and only the valid
interfaces will be displayed on the Port screen
