Converting a database from release 9 to release 21

Remove the front covers from the ST system.

Log into the system.

Note: In the next steps you will remove the floppy disk drives and

QPC742 FDI card that are currently installed in the ST system. You will

install in their place the following:

an NT9D33 Small System Multi Drive Unit (SMDU)

an NT9D34 Enhanced Mass Storage Interface (EMSI) card

Set the ENB/DIS switch to DIS on the QPC742 Floppy Disk Interface

Disconnect the cable between the FDU and the QPC742 FDI card.

Remove the FDU and the QPC742 FDI card.

Set the ENB/DIS switch on the NT9D34 EMSI card to DIS.

On the EMSI card, set positions 1, 5, and 7 on switch SW3 to ON. Set

position 8 to OFF.

Install the QMM42 data cartridge for release 9 software onto the EMSI

Note: Reuse the QMM42 data cartridge for release 9 from the old

QPC742 FDI card.

Insert the NT9D33 SMDU into its assigned position.

10 Connect the NT9D47 cable between connector 0 on the NT9D33 SMDU

and the faceplate connector on the NT9D34 EMSI card.

11 Connect the NT9D66 cable between the power connector on the

NT9D33 SMDU and the power connector on the faceplate of the

NT9D34 EMSI card.

12 Install the NT9D34 EMSI card into the ST system in the same slot from

which you removed the old FDI card.

13 Set the ENB/DIS switch on the EMSI card to ENB.

14 Insert the release 9 to release 10 conversion software disk into drive A.
