10 Install the NTND16 MDU into its assigned position in the CPU/Network
shelf card slots. Install the MDU in the position previously occupied by
the NT8D69 MDU.
Note: If the NTND16 MDU must be located close to a 5/12 V converter
card, install the EMI shield (provided in the upgrade package) between
the shelf rails next to the power converter card.
11 With the ENB/DIS switch set to DIS, insert each new MSI or EMSI card
into its assigned position.
12 For systems using MSI cards, connect one end of an NT8D80AC cable
to the connector on the MSI card in CPU 0. Connect the other end to
faceplate connector 0 on the NTND16 MDU. For systems using EMSI
cards, connect one end of an NT9D89AB cable to the connector on the
EMSI card in CPU 0. Connect the other end to faceplate connector 0 on
the NTND16 MDU.
13 For systems using MSI cards, connect one end of an NT8D80AD cable
to the connector on the MSI card in CPU 1. Connect the other end to
faceplate connector 1 on the NTND16 MDU. For systems using EMSI
cards, connect one end of an NT9D89AD cable to the connector on the
EMSI card in CPU 1. Connect the other end to faceplate connector 1 on
the NTND16 MDU.
14 Set the ENB/DIS switch on each MSI or EMSI card to ENB.
15 Insert ED floppy disks with release 19 software into the NTND16 MDU
drives. Insert disk A in DRV A and disk B in DRV B.
16 Perform a data dump. At the prompt, enter
EDD
When "DATABASE BACKUP COMPLETE" or "DATADUMP
COMPLETE" appears on the terminal, proceed to the next step.
If the data dump is not successful, do not continue; contact your
technical support organization. A data dump problem must be
corrected before proceeding.
