Preparing the S system for upgrade
1 Remove covers from the front and rear of the QCA60 cabinet.
2 Tag and disconnect all network loop cables connected to QPC376
network cards and cables connected to QPC139 SDI cards.
3 Set the ENB/DIS switch on the faceplate of the QPC33 card located in
the CE shelf to DIS.
4 Set the power switch on the faceplate of the tape unit to OFF or 0.
5 Tag and disconnect the cable from the faceplate of the QPC33 card to the
tape unit.
6 Set all shelf circuit breakers to OFF.
7 Set the CAB INP circuit breaker at the front of the cabinet to OFF.
8 Tag and disconnect the AC power for the cabinet by disconnecting the
commercial AC power line cord from its receptacle or by setting the
commercial AC power supply circuit breaker at the service panel to OFF.
9 Tag and disconnect any remaining cables connected to cards on the CE
shelf.
Note: The main CE shelf is located at the bottom left shelf position in
the cabinet (viewed from the front). An optional expansion CE shelf may
be located at the top right shelf position.
10 Remove cards from the CE shelf and store them in a safe place.
11 The CE shelf will not be used after the upgrade is completed. You may
remove it now if you wish:
• Tag and disconnect power connectors from the power distribution
harness to the backplane of the main CE shelf and the expansion CE
shelf, if equipped. Tape all exposed power leads with electrical
insulation tape.
Note: If the cabinet is equipped with an expansion CE shelf (a second
CE shelf), disconnect and remove the wiring between the +5V, +12V,
–12V, and LGND connections on the CE shelf.
• Tag and disconnect all CE alarm connectors.
