To upgrade a Meridian 1 option 51 to an option 51 X11 release 21 system,
you must upgrade both the hardware and the software.
Note: X11 release 21 is the highest supported X11 software release for
option 51 systems. The option 51 must be upgraded to an Option 51C
(with software generic 2211) or 61C (with software generic 2311) before
converting to X11 release 22 software.
Upgrading the hardware consists of the following:
— replacing the memory card, peripheral signaling card, and floppy disk
unit and interface cards
— replacing some of the common equipment with new common equipment
required by the new software release
Upgrading the software consists of the following:
— transferring the customer database to extra-high-density disks
