7 Set the ENB/DIS switch on the MSI or EMSI cards in CPU 0 and CPU 1
to DIS.
8 Disconnect cables to the faceplates of both MSI or EMSI cards and
remove the cards.
9 If an NT8D69 MDU is installed in the NT system, remove it by gently
pulling the unit forward two or three inches.
Wait at least 10 seconds before you remove the MDU from the card
slot to allow the hard disk to stop spinning.
10 In CPU 1, install the QMM42 cartridge for release 15 software on the
new MSI or EMSI card.
Note: If the new card is a QPC584 MSI card, it must be vintage L or
later.
11 Set the ENB/DIS switch on the new MSI or EMSI card to DIS.
12 On the MSI or EMSI cards, set positions 1, 5, and 7 on switch SW3 to
ON.
13 Install the NTND16 MDU into its assigned position in the CPU/Network
shelf card slots. Install the MDU in the three slots made available in
step 3 or the slots vacated by the NT8D69 MDU (if equipped) in step 9.
14 With the ENB/DIS switch set to DIS, insert the new MSI or EMSI card
into its assigned position.
15 Connect an NT8D80 cable between the faceplate connector on the MSI
or EMSI card in CPU 1 and connector 1 on the NTND16 MDU.
16 In CPU 1, set the ENB/DIS switch on the MSI or EMSI card to ENB.
17 Insert ED floppy disks with release 15 software into the NTND16 MDU
drives. Insert disk A in DRV A and disk B in DRV B.
