Upgrading CPU 0

Note 1: Make sure a terminal is connected to J25 on the I/O panel in
Core 0. If you are using only one terminal, connect it to Core 0; if you
are using a switch box for the CPSI ports, set the switch to Core 0. Verify
that the terminal is set for 9600 baud, 7 data bits, 1 stop bit, space parity,
full duplex, XON protocol.
Note 2: If you upgraded the CP and IOP ROMs on Core 1, do the same
for Core 0. Insert diskette 1 from the software upgrade package into
IOP/CMDU 0. Press the MAN RST button on the CP card in Core 0. At
the main menu, select option <e> for the CP ROM, follow the on-screen
directions, and then select option <f> for the IOP ROM. Refer to
"Software Installation Tool reference," Software conversion procedures
(553-2001-320). Do not install software or the customer database on
Core 0.

If the Clock Controller Card for the Core Module was previously
installed in the XT/71, move the card from CPU 0 to Core 0:

For QPC471 cards only, set SW1, SW2, and SW4 as shown (see
Table 12-35).

Set the ENB/DIS switch on the QPC471H to DIS and install the card in
slot 6.

Connect the NT8D79AD cables from the primary and secondary
references to the faceplate of the clock controller card.

Route the NT1R04AA cable from the junctor board to the clock
controller card.

Connect the NT1R04AA cable first to the controller card, then to the
connector on the junctor panel.
