Fuel Supply System
Inspection
1 .
Relieve fuel pressure (page 1 I-87).
Remove the service bolt on the fuel filter while

holding the banjo bolt with another wrench and at-
tach the fuel pressure gauge.
Start the engine. measure the fuel pressure with

the engine idling and vacuum hose of the pressure
regulator
disconnected.
Pressure should be:
323-363 kPa (3.30-3.70 kglcmz,
Reconnect vacuum hose to the pressure regulator.

Pressure should be:
250-304 kPa (2.55-3.10 kg/cm2,

FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE
fuel pump (page 1 l-99). If the pump is OK, check
the following:
If the pressure is higher than specified, inspect for:
Pinched or clogged fuel return hose or piping.

Faulty pressure regulator (page 1 I-95).

If the pressure is lower than specified, inspect for:
Clogged fuel filter.

Pressure regulator failure (page 1 l-95).
l
Leakage in the fuel line.
