7. Configure serial port logging:
a. Enable serial port logging:
(config)>path-paramenable true
(config)>
b. Set the size of the log file:
(config)>path-paramsize value
(config)>
where value is the size of the log file in bytes. The default is 65536.
The log file is saved to the /opt/serial directory. Because this is being save to the device's
memory, you should use serial logging for diagnostic purposes, rather than having it
permanently enabled.
8. Save the configuration and apply the change:
(config)> save
Configuration saved.

9. Type exit to exit the Admin CLI.
Depending on your device configuration, you may be presented with an Access selection
menu. Type quit to disconnect from the device.

Configure the RealPort service

After you have configured RealPort mode on the IX30, you must enable and configure the RealPort
service. When this step is complete, all of the serial ports on the IX30 are configured to use the
RealPort service.

1. Log into the IX30 WebUI as a user with Admin access.
2. On the menu, click System > Configuration > Device Configuration.
3. Expand Services.
4. Expand RealPort.
5. Click Enable to enable the RealPort service.
6. For RealPort Server Port, enter 1027. This is the default.
7. Enable Encryption to enable encryption of data. This is enabled by default.
