6E1-40 ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM (G13/G16 ENGINE WITHOUT WU TWC)
CODE NO.47 CMP SENSOR CIRCUIT (Page 2 of 2)
STEP
1) Remove CMP sensor from sensor case.
2) Remove metal particles on end face of CMP sen-
sor, if any.
3) Connect each couplers to ECM (PCM) and CMP
sensor.
4) Turn ignition switch ON.
5) Check for voltage at terminal C10 (C11 for ve-

hicle with immobilizer control system) of coupler
connected to ECM (PCM) by passing magnetic
substance (iron) while keeping approximately
1mm (0.03 in.) gap with respect to end face of
CMP sensor.
Does voltage vary from low (0 – 1V) to high (4 – 5V)
or from high to low?
Check signal rotor for the following, using mirror.
D Damage
D No foreign material attached

Is it in good condition?

1. CMP coupler disconnected

2. Body ground
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform final check, referring to "FINAL CHECK" in this
section to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
ACTION
YES
Go to Step 6.
Intermittent trouble or
faulty ECM (PCM).
Recheck referring to
"INTERMITTENT AND
POOR CONNECTION"
in Section 0A.
