Action
Clean the shafts and the shaft holes in the
upper and lower arms with isopropanol.
Apply a thin layer of glycerine on the tapered
part of the shaft and in the corresponding
cone in the upper arm.
Lubricate the outer race of the bearing with
bearing grease.
Align upper and lower arm holes.
Fit the shaft into the upper arm.
Fit the glycerine connection (3HAC038174-
004) of the shaft fitting/removing tool to the
shaft.
Fit the anvil with measurement range
(3HAC038174-003).
Connect the hydraulic pump and the glycer-
ine pump.
Push the shaft in by screwing the nut by
hand.
Note
Feel that the shaft guides into the arm joint.
Tighten with torque 20 Nm.
Set the dial gauge to zero.
Push the shaft in 3.5 mm ± 0.15 mm with the
hydraulic pump and the glycerine pump.
Release the pressure to 0 bar in the glycerine
pump only.
Wait 2 minutes.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic pump
to 0 bar.
Remove the equipment.
Fit the oil plug.
Note
Refit the shaft on the axis 2 side, by following
the steps 9-16, above.

Note
There must be no grease on the radial
sealing when fitting the shaft. Otherwise
grease will appear on the surface sup-
posed to be cleaned from grease with
isopropanol.
