NOTE:
To halt the host subsystem that comprises the Routing Engine
RE-DUO-C2600-16G, use request system halt.
Similarly, to halt the host subsystem that comprises the Routing Engine
RE-PTX-X8-64G, use request vmhost halt.
The
request system halt
plane from which it was issued. The command shuts down the Routing
Engine cleanly, so its state information is preserved. The SIBs might
continue forwarding traffic for approximately 5 minutes after the
command has been issued. To reboot a Routing Engine that
system halt
has been halted, you must connect through the console.
On the console or other management device connected to the other Routing Engine,

enter CLI operational mode and issue the following command.
user@host> request chassis cb offline slot n
n is 0 or 1 for the slot number of the host subsystem being taken offline.
Verify that the Control Board is offline:
