configure diagnostics cable time <time> {reset-port-on-failure [enable |
disable]}
Description
Creates a template for automatically running the Cable Diagnostics Module (CDM) to obtain cable
diagnostics values for the physical ports of the system.
Syntax Description
time <time>
reset-port-on-failure [enable | disable]
Default
Reset-port-on-failure is enabled by default.
Usage Guidelines
This command sets the starting time for the automatic running of the CDM to obtain cable diagnostics
values for the physical ports of the system. To enable auto-diagnostics collection for selected ports, use
the
enable diagnostics cable
use the
disable diagnostics cable
command.

If reset-port-on-failure is set to disable (the default setting), then a port that has been disabled prior to
running diagnostics will be left disabled after the diagnostics run has completed. As a result, the status
LED associated with the failed port will continue to blink. To stop the blinking of the status LED, you
must explicitly enable the port.
You cannot issue this command while the cable diagnostics process is in progress.

The following command configures automatic running of the Cable Diagnostics Module (CDM) to start
at 2:30 AM, and restarts the port if the auto-diagnostics run results in a port failure.

This command was first available in ExtremeWare 7.3.0.

Specifies the start time for the automatic running of the cable diagnostics.
The time must be entered in hh:mm:ss format.
Specifies whether a port must be restarted if the diagnostics run results in
a failure for the selected port. Enabling this feature specifies that the port
must be restarted after a failure; disabling this feature leaves the port
disabled after a failure. By default, the value is set to enable.
