ELECTRIC STARTER

STARTER MOTOR

• With the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the bat-

tery negative (–) cable before servicing the

starter motor.

Remove the left side rear cover (page 4-15).

Uncover the terminal cover and remove the nut and

starter motor cable from the starter motor.

Remove the mounting bolts, ground cables and

starter motor.

Remove the O-ring.

DISASSEMBLY/INSPECTION

Remove the bolts.
