OIL PRESSURE INSPECTION

• For EOP switch inspection (page 22-25)
Start the engine and warm it up.
Stop the engine.
Remove the EOP switch cover.
Remove the screw and disconnect the EOP switch
wire.
Remove the EOP switch from the crankcase.
Connect the oil pressure gauge to the oil pressure
gauge attachment.
TOOLS:
Oil pressure gauge set
Oil pressure gauge attachment
Check the engine oil level, if the oil level is below or
near the lower level line, add the recommended oil
to the upper level (page 4-10).
Warm the engine to normal operating temperature
(approximately 80°C/176°F) and increase the engine
speed to 5,000 min
STANDARD:
530 kPa (5.4 kgf/cm
(80°C/176°F)
Stop the engine and remove the tools.
Apply sealant to the threads of the EOP switch.
Install the EOP switch and tighten it to the specified
torque.
TORQUE: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)
Connect the EOP switch wire and tighten the screw
securely.
Install EOP switch cover.
Start the engine and check that the oil pressure indi-
cator turns off after a few seconds. If the oil pres-
sure indicator stays on, stop the engine immediately
and determine the cause (page 22-25).
