2. Movable Drive Face Position Sensor Shaft
Installation Inspection
Remove the movable drive face position sensor
(page 24-51).
Check if the sensor shaft flat is within tolerance
as shown in the illustration.
Is the sensor shaft within tolerance?
YES – Install the movable drive face position
sensor correctly, then recheck.
NO – Perform the Honda S Matic System ini-
tial setting procedure (page 24-61).
Replace the PCM with a known good
one if DTC 33-2 indicates appear again,
and recheck.
DTC 34-1 (Booster circuit)
• Before starting troubleshooting, check for loose
or poor contacts on the PCM 5P (Black) connec-
tor, then recheck.
1. Ratio Control Motor
Inspection
Remove the left body cover (page 3-11).
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the PCM 5P (Black) connector.
Measure the voltage at the PCM 5P connector of
the wire side.
CONNECTION: Red/black (+) – Green (–)
Is there battery voltage?
YES – GO TO STEP 2.
NO – • Open or short circuit in Red/black
wire
• Open circuit in Green wire
2. Failure Reproduction
Erase the DTC's from the PCM (page 24-10).
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ".
Start the engine and check for blinks of the
meter display "F".
Is DTC 34-1 indicated?
YES – Replace the PCM with a known good
one, and recheck.
NO – Perform the Honda S Matic System ini-
tial setting procedure (page 24-61).
