4. Shift Switch Signal Line Short Circuit Inspection
Check the continuity between the shift switch 3P
connector of the wire side and ground.
CONNECTION:
White/blue (+ button) – Ground
White/yellow (– button) – Ground
Is there continuity?
YES – • Short circuit in White/blue
• Short circuit in White/yellow
NO – Replace the PCM with a known good
one, and recheck.
METER DISPLAY "F" 43 BLINKS: Mode
select switch
• Before starting troubleshooting, check for loose
or poor contacts on the following connectors,
then recheck the "F" blinking.
– Mode select switch 2P (Black) connector
– PCM 21P (Black) connector
1. Mode Select Switch Continuity Inspection
Remove the inner cover (page 3-27).
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the mode select switch 2P (Black)
connector.
Check the continuity at the mode select switch
2P connector when the mode select switch
pushed.
CONNECTION: Yellow/black – Blue/orange
Is there continuity?
YES – GO TO STEP 2.
NO – Faulty mode select switch
2. Mode Select Switch
Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ".
Measure the voltage between mode select
switch 2P connector of the wire side and ground.
CONNECTION: Yellow/black (+) – Ground (–)
STANDARD: 4.75 – 5.25 V
Is the voltage within 4.75 – 5.25 V?
YES – GO TO STEP 3.
NO – • Open or short circuit in Yellow/black
wire
• Replace the PCM with a known good
one, and recheck.
