Fill the contact surfaces with 0.10 g (0.004 oz) mini-
mum of silicone grease of the brake lever, piston tip
and brake lever pivot bolt sliding surface.
Install the brake lever.
Install the pivot bolt and tighten it to the specified
torque.
TORQUE: 1.0 N·m (0.1 kgf·m, 0.7 lbf·ft)
Install the pivot nut and tighten it to the specified
torque.
TORQUE: 6 N·m (0.6 kgf·m, 4.4 lbf·ft)
INSTALLATION
Install the master cylinder and holder with the "UP"
mark facing up.
Align the end of the master cylinder with the punch
mark on the handlebar and tighten the upper bolt
first then tighten the lower bolt to the specified
torque.
TORQUE: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)
Connect the brake hose with the oil bolt and new
sealing washers.
Set the brake hose joint onto the stopper of the
master cylinder then tighten the oil bolt to the spec-
ified torque.
TORQUE: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 lbf·ft)
Connect the brake light switch connectors.
Fill and bleed the right brake line hydraulic system
(page 17-9).
Install the right rearview mirror (page 15-10).
