Coat a new O-ring with engine oil and install it to
the oil filter cartridge.
Apply oil to the threads of a new oil filter cartridge.
Install the oil filter cartridge and tighten it to the
specified torque using the special tool.
TOOL:
Oil filter wrench
TORQUE: 26 N·m (2.7 kgf·m, 19 lbf·ft)
Pour the recommended oil into the crankcase (page
4-11).

RADIATOR COOLANT

Start the engine, warm it up and stop it.
Support the scooter on its center stand.
Check the coolant level of the reserve tank with
engine running at normal operating temperature.
The level should be between the "UPPER" and
"LOWER" level lines with the scooter upright on a
level surface.
Remove the floor mat (page 3-8).
If the level is low, remove the maintenance lid and
fill the tank to the "UPPER" level line with a 1:1 mix-
ture of distilled water and antifreeze (coolant mix-
ture preparation: page 7-6).
Check to see if there are any coolant leaks if the
coolant level decreases very rapidly.
If the reserve tank becomes completely empty,
there is the possibility of air getting into the cooling
system (page 7-7).
Install the removed parts in the reverse order of
removal.

COOLING SYSTEM

Remove the following:
– Luggage lower box (page 3-16)
– Front lower cover (page 3-20)
Check for coolant leakage from the water pump,
water hoses and hose joints.
Check the water hoses for cracks or deterioration
and replace if necessary.
Check that all hose clamps are tight.
