2. Ground Line Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check the continuity between the test harness
and ground.
CONNECTION: 3 – Ground
4 – Ground
22 – Ground
Is there continuity?
YES
– Intermittent failure
NO
– • Open circuit in Green wire
• Open circuit in Green/black wire
3. Engine Stop Relay Inspection 1
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Remove the engine stop relay (page 6-79).
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ".
Measure the voltage at the fuse/relay box termi-
nals of wire side.
CONNECTION: Red/green (+) – Black/orange (–)
Is there battery voltage?
YES
– GO TO STEP 4.
NO
– • Open circuit in power input line
between the battery and engine stop
relay.
• Blown fuse (MAIN B and/or ECU, IGN
fuse)
• Faulty bank angle sensor
4. Engine Stop Relay Inspection 2
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Jump the engine stop relay connector terminals.
CONNECTION: Black – Black/white
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ".
Measure the voltage at the PCM 33P (Black) con-
nector terminal of wire side and ground.
CONNECTION: 33 (+) – Ground (–)
Is there battery voltage?
YES
– Inspect the engine stop relay (page 6-
79).
NO
– Open
circuit
between the engine stop relay and the
PCM
