Unlocking the vehicle
If you cannot lock or unlock the vehicle us-
ing the key or the KEYLESS GO* key, use
the emergency key element to unlock the
driver's door.

If you unlock the vehicle with the emergency
key element, the anti-theft alarm system* will be
triggered ( page 54) as soon as the driver's
door is opened.
There are several ways of disabling the alarm:
Press the Œ or ‹ button on the key.
Insert the key into the ignition lock.
Press the KEYLESS GO* button
( page 223).
Lock or unlock the vehicle using KEYLESS
GO*.

Pull the release catch in the direction of
the arrow and at the same time remove
emergency key element 2 completely
from the key.

1 To unlock the driver's door:
Insert the emergency key element to
the stop into the lock.
Turn the key anti-clockwise firmly to
the stop and hold it in this position.
Quickly pull the door handle.
The locking knob pops up.
The door is unlocked.
Turn the emergency key element back
and remove it.
Pull the door handle again.
