COMAND navigation system*

(dynamic route guidance with RDS-
TMC)
An RDS-TMC radio station transmits free-
of-charge RDS-TMC traffic reports in addi-
tion to the radio programme. COMAND can
receive the RDS-TMC traffic reports and
take them into consideration for dynamic
route guidance. The navigation system is
thus able to, for example, guide you around
a traffic jam.
There may be differences between the re-
ports received and the actual traffic situa-
tion.
Switching dynamic route guidance
on/off
To switch on: select the "Dynamic
1
route" route type
.
Proceed as described in the "Selecting
the route type" section ( page 141).
1 RDS-TMC and dynamic route guidance are not
available in all countries.

To switch off: select the "Fastest
route" or "Short route".
Proceed as described in the "Selecting
the route type" section ( page 141).
i
COMAND calculates a new route if you
change the route type setting with route guid-
ance active.
If you change the route type setting when route
guidance is inactive, COMAND uses the new set-
ting for the next route guidance.
