Replacing the wiper blades

G
Risk of injury
Before changing the wiper blades, switch
the ignition to 0. The windscreen wipers
may otherwise move and injure you.
G
Risk of accident
Wiper blades are wear parts. Replace the
wiper blades twice a year, ideally in the
spring and in the autumn. The windows will
otherwise not be properly wiped. This may
prevent you from observing the traffic condi-
tions, thereby causing an accident.
!
Only fold the windscreen wipers away from
the windscreen or rear window when the wipers
are vertical. Otherwise, you could damage the
bonnet.
Under no circumstances should you open the
bonnet when the wiper arms are folded for-
wards. Otherwise, you could damage the bonnet.
!
Do not fold the wiper arms onto the wind-
screen or rear window without wiper blades.
They may otherwise damage the windscreen or
rear window.
For your convenience, have this work carried
out at a qualified specialist workshop, e.g. a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
