Jump-starting
Get into the vehicle and start the en-
gine within 30 seconds.
If the starting attempt fails:
Turn the key to position 0 in the ig-
nition lock.
Remove the key.
Start the other vehicle's engine and
let it run for a few minutes.
Reinsert the key into the ignition
lock and start your vehicle within
30 seconds of switching on the igni-
tion.
When the engine is running, switch on
some electrical consumers, e.g. the
blower.
First disconnect the jump leads from
earth point 1 and negative terminal
2, then from positive terminals 3
and 4.
Have the battery checked at a qualified
specialist workshop, e.g. a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
