The sliding/tilting sunroof does not close if:
it is raised at the rear
it is blocked
there is no rain on the windscreen (e.g. be-
cause the vehicle is under a bridge or in a
carport)
Opening and closing the cover
The cover is used to protect you from sun-
light. When you open the sliding/tilting
sunroof, the cover moves back with it.
When the sliding/tilting sunroof is closed
or raised at the rear, you can open or close
the cover manually.
Resetting the sliding/tilting sunroof
The sliding/tilting sunroof must be reset
if:
the sliding/tilting sunroof was closed
manually (emergency operation)

it is only possible to open the sliding/
tilting sunroof with a jerk
there has been a malfunction
!
Do not open the sliding/tilting sunroof com-
pletely if it has not been reset. You could other-
wise damage the sliding/tilting sunroof.
Make sure the key is in position 1 or 2
in the ignition lock.
Press and hold the switch in the direc-
tion of arrow 3 until the sliding/tilting
sunroof is fully raised at the rear.
Keep the switch pressed for one sec-
ond longer.
Check whether the sliding/tilting sun-
roof can be opened or closed fully
again ( page 349).
If it cannot, reset the sliding/tilting
sunroof again.
Summer opening
In warm weather, you can ventilate the ve-
hicle before a journey. To do this, the fol-
lowing are operated simultaneously using
the remote control:
the sliding/tilting sunroof opens
The side windows are opened
The driver's seat ventilation* is
switched on

The summer opening function can only be
operated using the remote control.
Controls
Sliding/tilting sunroof
P80.20-2837-31
Point the key at the driver's door han-
dle as illustrated.
Unlock the vehicle using the Πbut-
ton on the key.
Keep the button pressed until the side
windows and the sliding/tilting sun-
roof have reached the desired position.
