Parking instructions:
On narrow roads, stay close to the
parking space when driving past it.
Parking spaces which are littered, over-
grown or in front of trailers might not
be identified.
Observe Park Assist's warning display
during the parking guidance procedure
( page 317).
The distance of your vehicle from the kerb
after completing the parking guidance pro-
cedure depends on the position and the
shape of the vehicles in front of and behind
the parking space as well as the prevailing
conditions. In some cases Parking Guid-
ance may guide you too far or not far
enough into the parking space. In these
case, abort the parking procedure and cor-
rect the position of the vehicle.
Identifying a parking space
Parking Guidance is automatically activat-
ed in forward mode. At speeds of below
16 km/h, the white parking space symbol
is displayed in the instrument cluster as a
system display. The parking space symbol
turns blue as soon as Parking Guidance
identifies a parking space.

3 Parking space found on the right-hand
side
In order for a parking space to be identified
by Parking Guidance, the parking space
must be:
limited at the rear
parallel to the direction of travel
at least 1.5 m wide
at least 1 m longer than the car
Driving systems
Parking spaces are displayed when driving
past them until you are at a distance of
15 m beyond them. By default, Parking
Guidance only displays parking spaces on
the front-passenger side.
Parking spaces on the driver's side are dis-
played as soon as the turn signal on the
driver's side is switched on.
To park on the driver's side, the turn signal
on the driver's side must remain switched
on until reverse gear is engaged.
Parking
The following describes how to park on the
front-passenger side. Parking on the driv-
er's side is performed inversely.
A warning tone sounds if Parking Guidance
identifies an obstacle behind the vehicle
during the parking procedure. Stop imme-
diately. The parking space and the lane
flash in the instrument cluster. Only con-
tinue once you are sure that there is no
risk. The display in the instrument cluster
stops flashing once Parking Guidance no
longer identifies any obstacles. The guided
parking procedure can be resumed.
