Practical advice
Changing the bulbs
Before changing bulbs
Only fit 12 V bulbs of the same type as
before and of the correct wattage.
Switch the lights off before changing a
bulb to prevent a short-circuit.
Only hold bulbs with a clean, lint-free
cloth.
Do not work with wet or greasy fingers.
If the new bulb still does not light up,
consult a qualified specialist workshop,
e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
Have the following bulbs changed at a
qualified specialist workshop, e.g. a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre:
The dipped beam headlamps
The front turn signals
The side lamps
The front foglamp bulbs
The additional turn signals in the
exterior mirrors
The third brake lamp
The brake lamps/the tail lamps

The rear foglamp
The rear turn signals
The licence plate lighting

Have the headlamp adjustment checked
regularly at a qualified specialist workshop, e.g.
a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.

To remove the cover: pull retaining
clip 2 in the direction of the arrow.

Risk of injury
Bi-xenon bulbs are under high voltage. Do
not, therefore, remove the cover on bi-xe-
non bulbs. Do not change bi-xenon bulbs
yourself, but have them replaced at a quali-
fied specialist workshop which has the nec-
essary specialist knowledge and tools to
carry out the work required.
Changing the main beam headlamps
and Motorway mode spotlight
Switch off the lights.
Open the bonnet.
Remove the cover ( page 478).
