Possible cause/consequence
Park Assist* is deactivated and is tem-
porarily not operational. Park Assist* is
deactivated if:
its radar sensor system* is tempo-
rarily not operational, e.g. due to
electromagnetic radiation emitted
by nearby TV or radio stations
the areas around the sensors in the
bumpers ( page 397) are dirty
the battery voltage is insufficient
Park Assist* is unavailable due to a
malfunction.
Parking Guidance failure
Possible solution
Clean the bumpers ( page 397).
Wait until the battery voltage has returned
to normal.
Park Assist* will be operational again without
you needing to start the engine if:
the dirt loosens while the vehicle is in mo-
tion
the system detects that the sensors are
fully available again
the message in the multi-function display
disappears
You can use Park Assist* again in the usual
way.
