Key
Problem
You cannot lock or unlock the vehicle
using the key.
Possible cause/consequence
The key batteries are discharged or nearly
discharged.
The key is faulty.

Suggested solutions
Point the tip of the key at the driver's
door handle at close range and try to
open the vehicle again.
If this does not work:
Unlock or lock the vehicle using the
emergency key element ( page 470).
Check the key batteries ( page 223)
and change them if necessary
( page 474).
Unlock or lock the vehicle using the

Have the key checked at a qualified spe-
cialist workshop.
