Possible cause/consequence
The red indicator lamp for the electric
parking brake is either lit or not lit and
the yellow warning lamp for the electric
parking brake is lit.
The electric parking brake has malfunc-
tioned.
Possible solution
To release:
Pull the electric parking brake handle.
or
Pull away carefully ( page 258).
Visit a qualified specialist workshop.
or
Release the electric parking brake manual-
ly ( page 472).
Visit a qualified specialist workshop.
To apply:
Switch off the ignition and press the elec-
tric parking brake handle until the warning
message in the multi-function display goes
out.
