Risk of injury
Make sure that nobody can become trapped
when you activate the easy-entry/exit fea-
ture.
If there is a risk of entrapment by the steer-
ing column, move the steering wheel adjust-
ment lever or press the memory button.
If there is a risk of entrapment by the seat,
you can also cancel the adjustment proce-
dure by moving the seat adjustment switch.
The steering column and driver's seat stop
moving immediately.
Never leave children unsupervised in the ve-
hicle. They could open the driver's door and
thereby unintentionally activate the easy-
entry/exit feature and become trapped as a
result.
The steering wheel position is stored when
you turn the key from position 2 to 1 in
the ignition lock or when you store or set a
memory position.
You can set the easy-entry/exit feature
using COMAND ( page 204).
Folding the front seat backrest forward
The recessed handle for unlocking the seat
backrest is on the top of the seat.

1 Seat release lever
To allow passengers in the rear to get in
and out comfortably, the front seat is:
automatically moved forwards if you
fold the backrest forward
automatically moved back if you fold
the backrest back

If you pull the seat release lever, the head
restraint lowers automatically.

Risk of injury
Make sure that nobody can become trapped
when moving the seat. If there is a risk of en-
trapment, move the seat adjustment switch
on the door.

Make sure that there are no items of luggage
in the footwell or behind the seats when adjust-
ing the seats, as they could damage the seats.
Folding the seat backrest forwards
Pull seat release lever 1 in the direc-
tion of the arrow and fold the backrest
forward.
The head restraint lowers and the seat
moves forwards.
Folding the seat backrest back
Pull seat release lever 1 in the direc-
tion of the arrow and fold the backrest
back until it engages.
The seat moves back to its original po-
sition. The head restraint raises again.
The backrest is locked again.
