In dry weather conditions, switch the wind-
screen wipers off. Otherwise, dirt on the surface
of the rain sensor or optical effects may cause
undesired windscreen wiper sweeps. This could
then damage the windscreen wiper blades or
scratch the windows.
i
If the windscreen wiper is switched on
and you stop the vehicle, the windscreen wiper
speed is reduced.
Wiping the windscreen without
washer fluid
Push the combination switch briefly up
to the pressure point in the direction of
arrow 2.
The windscreen wipers will wipe once
without washer fluid.
Wiping the windscreen using washer
fluid
Push the combination switch beyond
the pressure point in the direction of
arrow 2.
i
Wipe the windscreen occasionally using
washer fluid even if it is raining. By doing so, you
will prevent smears on the windscreen.
Intermittent wipe
Only switch on intermittent wipe in damp
weather conditions or rain.
Windscreen wipers
If you have set intermittent wipe, the rain
sensor is activated. The appropriate wiping
frequency is set automatically, according
to the rain on the sensor.
i
If intermittent wipe has been set, wiping is
interrupted when the vehicle is stationary and
the driver's door or front-passenger door is
opened. This protects people getting into and
leaving the vehicle from being sprayed with wa-
ter.
Intermittent wipe continues when you:
press the combination switch or switch the
windscreen wipers up or down a level
or
close the doors and transmission position D
or R is selected
The rain sensor automatically controls the
windscreen wipers according to how wet
the windscreen is.
Make sure the key is in position 1 in the
ignition lock.
To switch on: turn the combination
switch to position U or V.
The windscreen wipers sweep once.
Subsequent wipe intervals depend on
how wet the windscreen is.
