Risk of injury
Excessive electromagnetic radiation can
constitute a health hazard to yourself and
others. Use of an exterior aerial gives con-
sideration to scientific discussion surround-
ing the possible health risk posed by
electromagnetic fields.
For this reason, have the exterior aerial in-
stalled only at a qualified specialist work-
shop with the necessary specialist skills and
tools to carry out the work required.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre for this pur-
pose. In particular, work relevant to safety
or on safety-related systems must be car-
ried out at a qualified specialist workshop.

To ensure optimum mobile phone and two-
way radio reception quality in the vehicle and
minimise mutual interference between the vehi-
cle electronics and mobile phones/two-way ra-
dios, Mercedes-Benz recommends using an
approved exterior aerial. A connected exterior
antenna conducts the electromagnetic fields
emitted by the mobile phone to the outside and
the field strength inside the vehicle decreases in
comparison with operation without an exterior
aerial.
