A text message may comprise a maximum of
160 characters.
Select "Tel" "Tel" "Messages"
"New".
The input menu appears with the data
fields.

Icon 4 changes its function and appear-
ance depending on whether data field 1 or 2
is highlighted.
To change the data field: select the
desired data field.

Entering the telephone number
To enter the telephone number using the
address book:
Select the telephone number data field

You will see a list of address book en-
tries.
Search for the desired address book
entry ( page 187).
Once the search is complete, the entry
you are searching for will be at the top
of the list.
Press n.
If the entry only contains one tele-
phone number, the display changes to
the text message input menu. The tele-
phone number is automatically entered
in the data field.
