Distronic Plus inoperative
Possible cause/consequence
Distronic Plus* is deactivated and is
temporarily not operational.
Distronic Plus* is deactivated if:
the Distronic Plus* cover in the ra-
diator grille is dirty
its radar sensor system is tempo-
rarily not operational, e.g. due to
electromagnetic radiation
its function is impaired as a result of
heavy precipitation or fog
the battery voltage is insufficient
Distronic Plus* is faulty. BAS Plus* and
the PRE-SAFE Brake* may also have

failed.

Possible solution
Clean the Distronic Plus* cover in the ra-
diator grille ( page 396).
Restart the vehicle.
Distronic Plus* will be operational again with-
out you needing to restart the engine if:
the dirt (e.g. slush) loosens while you are
driving
the system detects that the sensors are
fully available again
the message in the multi-function display
disappears
You can operate Distronic Plus* again in the
usual way.
Have Distronic Plus* checked at a quali-
fied specialist workshop.
