Distronic Plus is deactivated automatically
when:
you apply the electric parking brake or
the vehicle is automatically secured
with the electric parking brake
there is no longer a vehicle travelling in
front below 25 km/h or the vehicle in
front is no longer detected
ESP ® ( page 49) intervenes or you de-
activate ESP
®
you shift the automatic transmission to
N, P or R
the vehicle rolls backwards
If Distronic Plus is deactivated, you will
hear a signal. The "DISTRONIC PLUS off"
message is displayed in the multi-function
display for approximately five seconds.
If the vehicle has been held by Distronic
Plus and a malfunction occurs in the sys-
tem, the "Brake immediately" message ap-
pears in the multi-function display.
Depress the brake pedal immediately so
that the vehicle does not roll away. Dis-
tronic Plus is then deactivated and the
message goes out.
Tips for driving with Distronic Plus
The following contains descriptions of cer-
tain road and traffic conditions in which
you must pay particular attention. In such
situations, brake if necessary. Distronic
Plus is then deactivated.
Cornering, going into and coming out of
a bend

Distronic Plus can only detect other vehi-
cles to a limited degree when cornering.
Your vehicle could brake unexpectedly.
Driving systems
Driving on a different line
P54.70-2340-31
Distronic Plus may not detect a vehicle
travelling on a different line. The distance
to this vehicle will be too short.
