the transmission is in position R, N

The transmission position cannot be
changed due to a malfunction.

Possible solution
Stop the vehicle.
Make sure that the transmission is in po-
sition P and the vehicle is secured with
the electric parking brake when leaving
the vehicle.
Move the child seat into the correct posi-
tion.
Have the sensor for the child seat recog-
nition checked at a qualified specialist
workshop.
Have the service displayed carried out at
a qualified specialist workshop.
If transmission position D is selected:
Drive to a qualified specialist workshop
without moving the transmission selector
lever from transmission position D.
If transmission position N, R or P is selected:
Consult a qualified specialist workshop.
