Driving systems
Deactivating Distronic
There are various ways of deactivating Dis-
tronic:
Pull the cruise control lever briefly in
the direction of arrow 3.
or
Apply the brakes.
or
Push the cruise control lever in the di-
rection of arrow 5.
Distronic is deactivated. The LIM indi-
cator lamp in the cruise control lever is
lit.
The last speed stored remains stored until
you switch off the engine.

Do not deactivate Distronic if you acceler-
ate. As soon as you release the accelerator ped-
al, Distronic adjusts the vehicle's speed to the
last speed stored.

Distronic switches off automatically when:
you apply the electric parking brake
ESP
®
( page 49) intervenes or you de-
activate ESP
®
you shift the automatic transmission to
N while the vehicle is in motion
you are driving under 25 km/h
If Distronic switches off, you will hear a sig-
nal. The "DISTRONIC Off" message is dis-
played in the multi-function display for
approximately five seconds.
Tips for driving with Distronic
The following contains descriptions of cer-
tain road and traffic conditions in which
you must pay particular attention. In such
situations, brake if necessary. Distronic is
then deactivated.
Cornering, going into and coming out of
a bend

Distronic can only detect other vehicles to
a limited degree when cornering. Your ve-
hicle may brake unexpectedly or late.
