Setting the specified minimum dis-
tance for Distronic Plus
You can set the specified minimum dis-
tance for Distronic Plus by varying the time
span between 1.0 and 2.0 seconds. This
time span determines the distance that
Distronic Plus is to maintain from the vehi-
cle in front, depending on your speed. You
can see this distance in the multi-function
display.

distance: turn thumbwheel 3 in the
direction of arrow .

Make sure that you adhere to the minimum
distance required by law from the vehicle in
front. Adapt your distance from the vehicle in
front if necessary.

Risk of accident
Pay even more attention to the traffic situa-
tion if the l distance warning lamp in the
instrument cluster goes on or an intermit-
tent warning tone sounds.
Brake or swerve to avoid any obstacles if
necessary.

Distronic Plus does not always clearly rec-
ognise complex road and traffic conditions. You
will then receive a false distance warning signal
or none at all.
Setting a stored speed
Push the cruise control lever up 1 for
a higher speed or down 2 for a lower
speed.
Press and hold the cruise control lever
until the desired speed is set.
Release the cruise control lever.
The new speed is stored. Distronic Plus
is activated and adjusts the vehicle's
speed to the new stored speed.
Adjustment in 1 km/h increments
Press the cruise control lever briefly up
or down in the direction of arrow 1
or 2.
The most recently stored speed in-
creases or decreases.
Adjustment in 10 km/h increments
Push the cruise control lever beyond
the detent up 1 for a higher speed or
down 2 for a lower speed.

Risk of accident
Only select a stored speed if you know what
that speed is and whether it is suitable for
the current situation. Otherwise, sudden ac-
celeration or braking could endanger you or
others.
Pull the cruise control lever briefly in
the direction of arrow 4.
