Refuelling process

Risk of explosion
Fuel is highly flammable. Fire, naked flames
and smoking are therefore prohibited when
handling fuels.
Switch off the engine and the auxiliary heat-
ing* before refuelling.

Risk of injury
Do not allow fuel to come into contact with
skin or clothing. Direct skin contact with
fuels and the inhalation of fuel vapours are
damaging to health.
The fuel filler flap is unlocked and locked
automatically with the key or KEYLESS
GO* when you open or close the vehicle.
The fuel filler flap is located to the rear on
the right-hand side.

Remove the key from the ignition lock.
Press on fuel filler flap 1 in the direc-
tion of the arrow.
The fuel filler flap folds out.
Turn the fuel filler cap anti-clockwise
and remove it.
Insert the fuel filler cap into the retain-
er on the inside of the fuel filler flap.
Only fill the tank until the pump nozzle
switches off.
Replace the fuel filler cap and turn it
clockwise.
You will hear the fuel filler cap lock.
Close the fuel filler flap until you hear
the catch engage.
Petrol (EN 228)

Refuel only with unleaded premium
grade petrol of at least 95 RON/85 MON, con-
forming to the European standard EN 228. There
is otherwise a risk of impaired engine perform-
ance or engine damage.
You will find further information about petrol in
the "Technical data" section ( page 519).

You will generally find information on the
petrol grade on the filling pump. Otherwise, ask
the filling station attendant.

As a temporary measure and only if the rec-
ommended fuel is not available, you can also use
regular unleaded petrol, 91 RON/82.5 MON.
This may reduce performance and increase pet-
rol consumption. Avoid driving at full throttle.
In some countries, the quality of the petrol avail-
able may be insufficient, causing coking in the
area of the inlet valves. In such cases, consult a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre and add the addi-
tive (Part no. A000989254510) recommended
