Possible cause/consequence
Parking Guidance* is unavailable if
Park Assist* is switched off.
Vehicles with Parking Guidance*: the
vehicle is parked.
Important functions of PRE-SAFE
failed. All other occupant safety sys-
tems, e.g. airbags, remain available.
The radar sensor system* of the vehi-
cle has been switched off on the on-
board computer and you have tried to
activate Park Assist or Distronic Plus*.
Possible solution
Parking Guidance is available again and
the display message disappears if
the dirt loosens while the vehicle is in mo-
tion
the system detects that the sensors are
fully available again
If the display message does not disappear of
its own accord:
Clean the bumpers.
Restart the engine.
Wait until the battery voltage has returned
to normal.
The display message disappears automatical-
ly.
have Visit a qualified specialist workshop.

Switch on the radar sensor system* on
the on-board computer ( page 287).
