2. Installation
Before You Begin...
1. Make sure that the Data Overwrite Security unit SD card is the correct type for this machine. The
correct type for this machine is type "H".
2. Make sure that the following settings are not at the factory default settings:
• Supervisor login password

• Administrator login name
• Administrator login password
These settings must be set up by the customer before the Data Overwrite Security unit can be installed.
3. Confirm that "Admin. Authentication" is on:
• [User Tools]> "System Settings"> "Administrator Tools"> "Administrator Authentication
Management"> "Admin. Authentication"> "On"
• If this setting is "Off" tell the customer that this setting must be "On" before you can do the
installation procedure.
4. Confirm that "Administrator Tools" is selected and enabled:
• [User Tools]> "System Settings"> "Administrator Tools"> "Administrator Authentication
Management"> "Available Settings
• "Available Settings" is not displayed until Step 2 above is done.
• If this setting is not selected tell the customer that this setting must be selected before you can do
the installation procedure.
Seal Check and Removal
1. Check the two seals [A] on the corners of the packet and confirm that they are firmly attached.
• If you see "VOID" on the tapes or on the corners of the packet this means that the seals have
been removed. Do not use the SD card for this installation. Contact your sales division
