Solution
1. Copy the color test pattern to determine which color is abnormal.
2. Turn the machine off.
3. Open the front door, remove the toner supply unit and check the toner shield glass for
dirt.
4. Reassemble the machine, switch the machine on, then do SP3820 001.
Notes
• The probes of the potential sensors of each PCU are located at different positions. This
failure can be caused by installing a potential sensor at the incorrect position. However,
you can eliminate this as a cause if a new PCU is installed. (A guide ensures prevents
a PCU from being installed at the wrong location.)
• If the machine fails to return SC240 to SC243, you can eliminate a defective LD as the
cause of the problem.
