Component Groups (Rear Clutch)
-SST
3.
COMPRESS PISTON RETURN SPRINGS AND REMOVE
SNAP RING
Place SST on the spring retainer and compress the sprir
with a shop press.
Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring.

REMOVE SPRING RETAINER AND EIGHTEEN RETURN
SPRINGS
5.
ASSEMBLE REAR CLUTCH ON CENTER SUPPORT AND
BLOW OUT PISTON
(a)
Slide the rear clutch onto the center support.
(b)
Apply compressed air to the center support to remove
the piston.
(If
the piston does not come out complete-
Iy, use pliers to remove it.)
(c)
Remove the rear clutch from the center support.

REMOVE O-RINGS FROM REAR CLUTCH PISTON
INSPECTION OF REAR CLUTCH
INSPECT REAR CLUTCH PISTON
(a)
Check that the check ball is free by shaking each
piston.
(b)
Check that the valve does not leak by applying low-
pressure compressed air.
NOTE:
Do not allow the discs to dry out. Prepare new
discs by soaking them at least two hours in A TF.
ASSEMBLY OF REAR CLUTCH

1.
INSTALL NEW O-RINGS ON PISTON
2.
INSTALL REAR CLUTCH PISTON IN DRUM
Press the rear clutch piston into the drum with the cup
~
up, being careful not to damage the a-rings.
