1 . COMPRESS RETURN SPRINGS AND REMOVE SPRING RE-
T AINER SNAP RING
(a) Install the SST. Gradually and evenly tighten the bolt
to compress the springs, being careful not to damage
the transmission case with SST.

(b) Using snap ring pliers and a hook, remove the snap
