INSPECTION OF THROTTLE BODY
1.
CLEAN THROTTLE BODY BEFORE INSPECTION
(a)
Wash and clean the cast parts with a soft brush in
carburetor cleaner.
(b)
Using compressed air, blow all passages and apertures
in the throttle body.
CAUTION:
To prevent deterioration, do not clean the
throttle position sensor.

CHECK THROTTLE VALVE
(a)
Check that there is no clearance between the throt-
tle stop screw and throttle lever when the throttle
valve is fully closed.
(b)
When the throttle valve is fully closed, check that ad-
vancer port is located on the air cleaner side as shown
in the figure.
If not, adjust the throttle valve closing angle.
NOTE:
Do not adjust the throttle valve closing angle if
unnecessary.
3.
IF NECESSARY, ADJUST THROTTLE STOP SCREW
(a)
After loosening the lock nut of the throttle stop

screw, loosen the stop screw until it is about to touch

(b)
Have the throttle stopper screw touch the lever.
Then screw it in 1/4 turns and lock it with the lock
nut.
(c)
After installation of the throttle body, make sure that
engine rpm.
4.
CHECK THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
(See step 2 on page
FI-59)
5.
IF NECESSARY, ADJUST THROTTLE POSITION
SENSOR
(a)
Loosen the two screws of the sensor.
